About the TPSA

Code of Practise & Ethics

Our Background

In 1997, a number of well established technical production services companies and individuals came together to form an association to serve the needs of both the live entertainment industry and its clients.  Basing itself on the PSA (Production Services Association) in the UK, the Technical Production Services Association (TPSA) was born.  Launched officially in February 1998, it is an association incorporated not for gain under section 21 of the Companies Act 61 of 1973.

In addition to monthly meetings and minutes sent out to all members, every year an Annual General Meeting is held, where issues can also be raised, and voted upon by the membership.  The AGM usually takes place in June, and a new Committee is elected at the same time, and charged with guiding the TPSA through another 12 months.

The TPSA does whatever the membership mandates it to do, as long as it is within the Association Agreement.  By joining the TPSA, members provide the association with a broader base to represent the industry and participation is essential for the success of the industry.

Our Objectives

The objectives of the TPSA are:

The TPSA invites memberships from anyone employed as a professional on the technical side of the live entertainment industry, companies supplying technical services for the production of events, conference and event organisers.

Associate members are invited from the retail, wholesale, manufacture and distribution sector and venues.
